tree Description:
Trees. There is hope. Please visit our sponsors.t is a shame to think that the redwood tree at one time covered many areas of the earth. That was about 20 million years ago, and today these trees are no where near as populous. In fact, the redwood tree can only be found in a small area along the north coast of central and northern California. Over the years, these trees were chopped down and destroyed; and now only reside in one place. The redwood is able to survive in this one part of California due to the climate that is has plenty of moisture to offer. No more than 150 years ago, the redwood tree could be found on about 2 million acres. Unfortunately, they now only occupy about 95,000 acres of land. The redwood has a shallow root base, but achieves great balance, thanks to its upright position. This tree grows straight up and down; and if you are looking at it from the ground, it appears that they touch the sky. One of the most interesting facts about the redwood tree is that the bark of each one is never the same. This is due to the different level of water that reaches each tree, as well as the pitch of the wood. Redwood trees grow very close together, and this is one of the reasons that there used to be so many of them. Often times, one tree will sprout up from the root of another. These interconnected root systems allow for the trees to maintain great stability and strength.
